MyPhone S22 Duo Dual SIM Slider Phone

I just read on the newspaper an ad announcing the new Slyder phone featuring a sleek look at various colors. An officemate of mine's planning to buy one I'll ask for a review and feedback before I can recomment it if it's worth splurging again for I'm really hell bent on buying a new Nikon camera soon

features of the phone and picture:

The ad announced it's priced at less than P8000 (about US$195) already a steal if you you're maintaining two numbers with two phones but I'm more interested now in a 3G-capable phone and better camera of Sony-Ericsson. Unit is available at various dealers in the Philippines.

Update later...

  1. i'm an ericsson fan (take note i didn't say sony-ericsson) ever since i got my first cell phone, never mind when. i'm not so sold on the idea of a dual sim phone. perhaps when the big boys (sony-ericsson, nokia, samsung,et al) start making dual sim phone will i begin considering getting one.

btw, thanks for visiting my site!

  2. Hi! :) Not to contradict or anything, I just like to give added info on MyPhone. I'm an ericsson fan also eversince I got the 3G K608i model a year ago(which is actually affordable at 5800 & cheaper than the Nokia 3Gs but with most of the features that I needed). I decided to buy the MyPhone S22 last week 'cause of my need to maintain 2 active sims for personal and business reasons. I would have gotten the T22 which has a stylus for the touch screen and bluetooth but I chose S22 'cause I need it's multimedia (particularly the music composer). Well, so far it's done a good job for me, not having to bring 2 cellphones all the time. It's user-friendly also, easy to upload and download to a PC just like a flash disc. The package includes 2 batteries and 2 ways to recharge via outlet and PC USB. And it has a cool packaging which is like a jewelry box. The only problem I have now is the .3gp video file I recorded on my ericsson won't play on it but it says in the manual it plays *.3gp & *.mp4, no matter what file size. I have to say goodbye, too, to K608i's FM radio, bluetooth and 3G 'cause S22 doesn't have it. It doesn't matter though, I don't really need it. :) Btw, MyPhone is also a product of Solid Electronics which are also makers of Sony and Samsung products. So that's my 2 cents. 'Hope it helps. :)

  5. so far, im satisfied with my s22 esp. with the mp3 player. the only disappointment is, the camera.. considering its 1.3MP, it has a bad resolution when you will transfer and view it in your PC. i dunno if its with the setting on my phone. is anybody experienced the same thing?

  10. If you're a heavy texter check the texting speed of this model first, kasi super bagal ang texting ng myphone T32 ko which I got free from suncel.

Plus the software is kinda bobo, cuz for example, when choosing contacts from your phonebook to dial, you can only enter the 1st letter. Pero when choosing contacts to text to, you can enter 2nd & 3rd letters and it will jump to the 1st matching contact. So typically china-made.

Also, to correct what a poster said above, solid electronics is not the maker of Sony and samsung phone. Solid Electronics just repairs Sony TVs. Malakas kasi ang owner ng solid (Elena Lim) kay u-know-who kaya they're the 1ST and ONLY all-china-branded phone na nakakuha ng NTC sticker which allows them to sell in the Philippines.

Except for the convenience of dual-sim, there is nothing else I can recommend about myphone over similarly priced phones from the big boys. If I had to pay for it, I wouldn't get it.

Having said that, I'm still using it as my 2nd phone, cuz it surely beats lugging 3 phones around!

myphone may have the looks, but the chinese still have a long-way to go when it comes to user-friendly software.
