  3. Help! I did the most dubious thing ever! I signed the application thinking that it would take days before they approve it. They even told me that there is no assurane that they will accept my application. But everything happened so fast. They asked me to present my card and any valid ID for verification but the truth is they are actually trying to put me on the spot and force me to purchase. They swiped my card for the initial premium and told me that it would take 30-45days before the effectivity date so I don't have to worry It's like saying I still have time to decide. But I was so surprised that after a few minutes I was informed that my app was already approved and that I had already purchased their product. I don't want this and I don't know whom to go for help. I feel violated and manipulated. How will I get my money back.

  4. anonymous 3, can't help you there. you already approved the transaction. You may try complaining at DTI (if they will act on it since i don't trust the government). That happened also to a friend of mince with Family First. You need to contact Prudential Life to cancel it for you. Your credit card will just bill you until you bleed dry :(

it's a legit "promo" using unethical practice

  6. anonymous, try to read the first post regarding this topic where the agent used the name of a dead brother of my officemate just to trick them to come to their office. Insensitive people that they are. My officemate is still grieving the loss...

  8. its your option to avail ung offer nila, ako nakuha ko ung scholarship saka ung 20k accidental insurance and nde ako nag avail nung offer, in fairness maganda namn ung offer nila.

    ReplyDelete
  9. kenshin21, i have no problem with their products, they're legal and probably good. but how they market them? read my earlier post on they tried to lure an officemate of mine with their offer even using the name of his brother who had just died from an accident.

    ReplyDelete
  10. you know what i thought i was intelligent but then again, i was duped into getting their product. It was totally a waste of my money. The rewards they raved about was P20,000 -- its not even life but accident. so, if you die by natural causes wala din yung P20,000. the scholarship is from datamex computer school. Vhinz of Prudential said to wait for it dahil pinaprocess ... my gosh, anong i proprocess eh voucher lang pala ibibigay. and if you notice, the website on the voucher says datamex.com but if you check it, that website is not a school at all. i suppose it's one of those weird schools. i mean, for a computer/IT school ha, yahoo email ang gamit. tapos, the voucher lists a number of courses, when i asked.

if you ask me, sobrang madaya talaga. that Vhinz agent told me the product he was selling was not pre-need kahit glaring na dun sa form na nakalagay PRE NEED APPLICATION. he told me, ignore that because it's just our standard form for all products even non- pre need plans.

the thing about this is, he sold the product as if investment/savings na life insurance. turned out, memorial plan pala. gusto ko talaga ibagok ulo ko sa pader sa sobrang katangahan.

anyway, i submitted my complaint to their office. hopefully, positive ang feedback because i don't want to pay for 6,699 for a memorial plan.

and then i checked with the SEC what Vhinz claimed that the promo is for that day lang. if i don't avail, they would have to surrender the winning code to the SEC blah blah. siempre, na pressure tuloy ako.

right now, i'm not sure what the outcome of my complaint would be but im sure if i get a lawyer i'll win the case. i even kept the papers on which the agent made all his doodles and benefits and illustrations. i will be a pain in the ass. and then that Vhinz guy, i'll make sure he gets his selling license forfeited. PAra lang maka sale, nag misrep. Makarma sana. gggrrrrrrrr

  17. same thing happened to me. i got roped into availing one of their plans sa family first sa southmall. siyempre big lapse of judgment on my part, pero parang ang bilis kasi ng pangyayari. i didn't even know why i handed over my credit card. right after they swiped it, i found out na apart from the 700 a month na babayran ko, may 1600+ pa pala, each month dn. for some reason kasi they made me believe na 700 a month lng babayran ko. and then sinabi din sakin na ipapa approve pa yung application. when i found out na doble pa babayaran ko, i immediately asked the agent kung pwedeng i cancel yung transaction since i just made it, wala pa sigurong 10 minutes. pa iling iling lang cya, and he wasn't doing anything.

afterwards, i met with my friend sa mall, and by that time i was already regretting my decision. yung friend ko nagalit na nagpaloko or nagpadala ako, and insisted na ipa cancel ko. pwede pa naman daw kasi same day transaction, wala pa nga halos one hour. so i went there and told them i wanted to cancel. ibang agent na nakausap ko, he seemed like a senior, and he said hindi na daw pwede kasi na transact na at na send na daw yung papers/files ko sa upper management. automatic daw yun kahit bagong transaction. i tried everything, even pleaded with the guy, pero sabi di dw pwede i cancel. if i want daw, i can cancel after 1 year, pero hindi advisable, and the initial deposit i paid would be forfeited. eh mga 15K yun, so bad trip sbra. (gusto ko ng batukan at sampalin ang sarili ko kasi grabeng katangahan on my part) mejo pinapaikot lng dn nila ko, and i was really really down at that point, so parang forced resignation na lang. so i got out of there and after, we went to the bank to ask kung anong pwedeng gawin dun sa transaction na gusto kong i cancel. good thing the bank employees were helpful, at aware sila na may nangyayaring ganun. they also said na bullshit yung ayaw nilang ipacancel kasi wala pa halos half a day. they suggested na we go to the mall's security office para magpa assist. we followed their advice and dun sa customer relations office pinatawag yung manager ng family first. she said pwede naman daw mag cancel, and she's surprised na sinabi sakin ng agent na hindi pwede at pumunta pa kami sa mall admin. she asked me if i the agent said directly na bawal i cancel or they just skirted around the question. (pero kahit skirting around the question and not answering it directly is a form of deception na rin, kasi we as consumers can't get our facts straight) malas lang nya, i remembered that the agent told me na hindi pwedeng i cancel yun dahil hindi naman dw tulad ng damit or alahas na pag di mo nagustuhan pwede mo ng ibalik. so it was clear na harap harapang pagsisinungaling yung ginawa sakin. in the end, i got the plan cancelled, and pina void nila yung chinarge sa credit card ko. tomorrow i'll call the bank to check kung void na nga talaga.

ang sakin lang, be careful, kasi it might not be an outright scam, or hindi ka man i hypnotize, pero parang ganun yung feeling because of their sales strategy. like what other people said, mejo hindi maganda yung tactics nila, at pag nadali ka man, parang you won't know what hit you.

to those who want their money back, maybe you can contact the head office directly, kasi i was told na you're allowed to cancel pa within 30 or 60 days ata. anyway, good luck na lang.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Their latest twist is you won three prizes. 1) Free Life insurance which you probably have to pay for anyway. 2) The free voucher scholarship to Datamex which based on other posts will take ages to process and 3) A pre approved prudential Visa Card.

Thanks to the web I don't have to waste my time.

    Thanks Mark

  20. hi guys, i went to SEC to filed a case regarding the wrong selling tactics of prudential life,so i submit everything that they need including a written report how that thing happen, then after a one week, i received a letter from SEC,i have a schedule meeting (march 24)with them including the prudential life representative, before that day i received a letter and a txt messege from prudential life they're asking me not to continue my complain and they will going to return my money back, natakot din cla!! then i called SEC regarding that, then i went to prudential life makati to return all the transaction things that they gave me, i also paid 250 pesos for the cancellation fee, i just need to wait for 2-3 weeks so i can get my money back...lets see what will happen....

  21. OH my gosh... same thing happened to me. im so surprised when they texted me that i won a reward. nagconvinced pa ko ng friend na sasama sakin for that. and finally my friend agreed to come tinawagan ko ang isang certain "Janet Esquivel." to my surprise if i can come today as in today, magbibgay daw sila ng promo, dodoblehin nila ung price. Anyway, natuwa naman ako kc pra pati ung friend ko eh meron reward. but i got this doubt na bakit ganon, i checked the site of prudential life, and there promos are not there. then luckily i got their company name, nag search ako sa internet and ito nga nakita ko scam pala sya. Thanks to all of you. Then suddenly their officer i think called me, confirming my schedule to her, nagalit pa sya when i said, i cant come. then she's really get angry kc kami nalang daw wait nya. pero nainis na ko, sabi ko, i know that this is a text scam. Wala syang nasabi, she just said na sana inform mo ko that you already know. hehehe, nakaka tawa. and then i bang the phone down.

What should i do to get my refund sa mga manlolokong yan.

  26. is this something to do with the SEC rules regarding on the prudential life license has been revoked by the SEC due to their financial status? Yung asawa ko kasi my insurance policy sa prudential and isang payment na lang at fully paid na sya. ano pala mangyayari dun kung nagkakaproblema na ang prudential life? would there still be life with prudential insurance?.sabi nila yung mga existing client nila maseserbisyuhan pa nila e pano yung malapit ng matapos ang payment?would it they still be consider as existing client yung mga ganun?

    ReplyDelete
  27. same thing happened to me...may meeting daw sila ilang beses rin ako tumawag para ipa cancel ang plan ko nakuha this month lang. Pinuntahan ko talaga office nila d nila ako pinansin the first day pinabalik lang ako nun sunday.

I hope so!

  28. anonymous, the SEC revoked Prudentialife's selling permit meaning they can no longer sell new plans due to deficiencies in their trust fund. According to "official" prudentialife "praise" releases, they can still service their existing clients

thanks sa inyo. i've learned from your experiences. sana matapos na ang gulong ginawa nila sa buhay nyo. it's not just about the money kasi... na sa totoo lang eh mahirap din namang kitain. but it's also about the dignity of a person.

Dubious because any decent and legit company should NOT be notifying their winners/recepients of any benefit or reward VIA TEXT. And look how unprofessional this text had been composed.

  39. i got the same text message today. i even bought their lies way back in 2006. i still feel stupid and regret the day i signed their policy. i availed the TRUST FUND policy. it looked promising but the thing that really made me wonder was when my female agent asked me to personally write my info on the contract backwards or upwards. meaning, starting from the last part where i should write my name & sign on it, going up to the first info (i can't remember what i wrote). i can't believe they made me write backwards without reading the contract. i felt like i was hypnotized or something. i don't think i will ever get my money back, or even make use of the policy i bought.

E ulol pla xa e! Sarili nya nga d nya matulungan. Mukang patay gutom at I'm sure mas mlaki xeldo ko sa knya no?! Dpat db empleyado muna nila tulungan nila bago ibang tao?!

  68. I also received a message like that yesterday and called them only this morning. Supposedly, I am scheduled to claim their offer today after lunch. Gut feel, I checked the internet and found this blog. Thanks for this kind of info because I should have wasted my time going there. Maybe Prudential knew all about this because I also checked the previous blogs about this scam and some of it was dated way back 2007.

  69. i had same experience under Prudential Office in Imus Cavite.

  71. I hope my story will serve as a warning, too.

My mom also got the same message but it was from COCOPLANS INC. from a certain Hector E. Gaylican. It was I who called to verify. The guy said I need 3 IDs -- company ID, government-issued ID, and CREDIT card with Mastercard or Visa logo, since they are under the UCPB (heck, what a logic?!). These IDs are required to "activate" the: 1) 2-year course scholarship at Datamex; and 2) personal accident insurance certificate. I kept on asking him what do they need the credit card for. He said it's a good proof of identity because unlike government-issued IDs, company IDs and credit cards cannot be falsified. Huwat?!?! If it's proof of identification they're only really after, knowing if a government-issued ID is fake or not would suffice! Besides, when you apply for credit card or open an account with the bank what they require are valid GOVERNMENT-ISSUED IDs. But of course, I knew there was something fishy there and that they were insulting my intelligence. I pity people that are tricked into believing these smooth-talkers. So please BEWARE and be always alert!

  73. Guys, the best way to fight them is to report their number and test message to ospac@ntc.gov.ph. You have to give your name, mobile number and address for them to verify your authenticity but they act very fast. I reported a number yesterday and today it is already blocked. I tried calling the number but it is dead.

  74. I received a call from a staff of DATAMEX who informed me that I won rewards & privileges from their company at claim it at PMRC Releasing Dept. at Cebu City. From the start, I already thought that it is fishy. The staff that called me doesn't even know how to use proper english grammar. I pity her for trying so hard to speak english. But of course, I also thought about "what if it is true?". And so, I checked the net and found out that it is really a scam. Thanks a lot for this site and for the persons who made comments. It really helps a lot. These scam makers must be punished somehow. Well, if they can escape from the laws of men, i'm sure they can't escape the LAWS OF GOD.

  76. I received a call from PMRC last week saying that they will give me a certificate for a free medical check up for a year from FriendlyCare, and its transferrable. I asked how they got my num, they just said that a friend of mine gave it to them but they cannot say who. They wanted me to go to Makati to claim the certificate, and that they will tell me who this friend was. I received a txt msg from 09272867037 (joey javier) and 09072869541 (sam) earlier, asking me to txt them when i'm on my way there. They also asked me to bring my credit card. Dito ako biglang nagduda! So I decided to check for PMRC scams on the net and I found this! Buti na lang! I txted them now saying that I changed my mind and now they're saying that I'm not a responsible person. haha!

Obviously they are still around after all these years which tells us there are enough stupid people among us that are drawn into scams where one is offered rewards and privileges for no apparent reason. I get these texts once in a while- one offering me a vacation in Boracay, another an overnight stay in some resort, cash, mobile phones, automobiles and all other assorted crap. I haven't investigated this matter thoroughly yet, but from what I've read in some comments it would seem as though this Philippine Prudential privilege offered by one Mr. Louie Aguilar (w/c I also received in my Sun Broadband Inbox Messages on Dec. 06, 2010) is a sham and shame to say the least. Having said that I will now tell you guys what each of us must do and what I Will in fact Do; that is to cooperate with authorities concerned with such issues. For Example: Report your experiences to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Anti-Money Laundering Branch and to other accountable parties like Police Intelligence and so forth. I would also recommend that we inform the Mainstream Media(GMA; ABS-CBN). For the love of goodness, let us all act on this TENACIOUSLY. I thank and admire you all for sharing your stories, but please don't stop there. May the Lord God bless all your efforts and you as well.

  99. Hi guys! Please be informed that at about 1:30pm today, I received this kind of text from a certain Louie Aguilar of Prudential Life Makati informing me to urgently call and activate the reward I received. Thanks to this blog, I certainly almost believed since the name PRUDENTIAL LIFE is attached to the text. Is this a desperate move? Does the management of Prudential Life sanction this, if so then it's poor management.

Infact, I committed to them for an appointment at around 2pm-3pm today. After our conversation I pray and ask God if its true or not. Until I realize to see the telephone directory and look for the Philippine Prudential Makati telephone number and there I found different numbers from the number that Mr. Caballero gave me. So, I felt doubt that's why I came here in my room and open my laptop and search for the Philippine Prudential Makati Branch where I found it "Prudential Life Text Scam. I'm from Bacoor, Cavite.. thanks God and internet nakita ko ung mga topics about sa Prudential Life Scams.. 3 days ago may tumawag sa landline namin at alam pa talaga ang name ng husband ko (i wonder why) nanalo daw kami ng free insurance, educational voucher, at raffle coupon para manalo ng P50,000. sobrang bait nung staff on the other line at ang galing niyang makipag usap ah, sobrang friendly.ang kulit sobra kaya nakapag pa sked na kami. meron pa siyang binigay na claiming code para daw walang bayaran...scam pala talaga since 2009 pa at na featured sa XXX ABSCBN...., buti nalang hindi kami natuloy!

  114. Okay, just got somewhat the same message just a couple of minutes ago from this number: +63 907 762 8101, here's the exact message, daming mali, hehe.

    Good day!
In behalf of Philippine Prudential Rewards Departments, had chosen you to received a FULL EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR COLLEGE GOOD FOR2STUDENTS w/ MEDICAL BENEFIT FROM IMS WEALTH CARE INC. For details you may contact ARRIANNE SANTOS @9140461-9140491 Thnk you and CONGRATULATION!

    P.s. Thsis not a scam!
    No payments!
    No Cash out!

They texted my roaming number, hopefully malaki binayaran nila and sana mag text pa uli sila ng mag text para mas magastusan pa sila.

Anyway, although I knew na scam to, I still checked on the net and found this blog, laking tulong nito sa mga nag checheck prior sa decision nila na magpunta, so credits to the individual who made this site. sana lang matigil na yung scam na to, kawawa naman kasi yung mga nabibiktima, kahit sabihin mong mabawi nila yung pera nila, yung stress at yung tiwala sa tao, matindi epekto.... Imagine, this has been going on for years, sigurado ang dami na nilang naloko... haist...

Good Luck and God Bless everyone! Please Be very careful!!!

  118. Someone texted my husband no and he forwarded it to me.. I just called a while ago to inquire if what's this promo all about.. I told him that we did not joined in any kind of promotional package or anything similar... According to him someone referred my husband/ or one of his friends. He said we won a Life insurance and educational plan from datamex and it's good for 2yr course, also i don' really believe on what is he saying because the first thing he ask me if i have credit card so I told him I don't have and later he said ok just wait for the text stating the code "daw' to claimed the prize.. and It does confirm me that they are fraud scam. I don't plan to go there anyway..

So to those who will receive this kind of thing.. beware don't believe to them...

  132. Thank God i open this page, my mother received a text message just this afternoon informing her that she is entitled for the 5 sets of gift certificates. my mom is daw is one of the lucky winner based on the raffle coupon my mom filled up at SM North. they only give 2 days to claim the prize at Emerald Ave Ortigas Pasig . either today and tomorrow. to claim that GC my mother has to show 2 valid ids and a bank id. my mom replied to them that she doesn't have a bank id. then the prudential staff called up kelangan dw tlga my bank id either credit card or atm card for verification purposes. since wla ngang bank id ang mama ko, pwede naman daw sa iba kc transferable dw. either sakin or sa mga sisters ko na atm card.

now i know their real purpose. i already informed my mom about this. thanks to this page!

credit card lang talaga ang habol jan sa ganyan na offers. telemarketers are paid for "shows with card" meaning, di sila babayaran kapag nakapagdala sila ng client na walang card... the rate for a "show" is 50php for the first show, 100 for 2nd, 150 for third and so on for a day. pagkatapos nun they will have .14% commission for any sales na nagawa ng sales officer inside the mall. they will use all of the trickery they know para makuha nila ang credit card at magkasales. stay away from this company...

I've called this number to verify if this true. Ms. Shiela Reyes told me to go to the office at Makati. Iasked her kung bakit ako nanalo for knowing na wla naman ko sinalihan na raffle. She told me na electronic reaffle daw. Sabi nila need na raw iclaim yng rewards today.... so i've decided not to go there because I'm just wasting my time.... This is just a text scam....... Don't listen to them....
God is good because I read this comments posted in the internet.

  142. Hi, just last Saturday, a guy wagged his MetroBank credit card while i was going out of LRT Roosevelt...I just replied meron na ako niyan thinking credit card benebenta niya...But he said good daw kasi may free voucher sila, may pinakita siya sa akin na voucher. I said to the gay, i'll give him only 15 minutes. When i entered their office, the lady who entertained me discussed about the health plans and the cost..But i explained to her i do not make decisions without my husband and kahit mag tumbling pa siya she cannot get even P1 from me since that's the rule me and my husband has imposed na if over P1,000 and incur na cost for any expenses not planned, then consult one another...In the end, the girl did not get anything from me...Ang company name nila IMS Health Care Inc...Pag uwi ko sabi ng asawa ko, huwag daw ako papaloko sa kahit ano...Binigay pa din naman niya ang voucher at nag ask ako ng reading materials, nagbigay din siya in the end...So its all about negotiations so long as di ka papatalo...A word of caution sa mga credit card users, kahit may credit card kayo, don't ever spend on impulse kahit ano pa yan....Thanks:)

  143. sasha_blithe: A girl named Cristine Soriano (09276451109)called me an hour ago. She said she's from prudential life and started talking about my 'free benefits'. She told me that I'm supposed to receive a text message last week. I am skeptical about what she said since I'm not signing up for anything. I asked her how she got my information and why I'm entitled to that benefit. She then said that for their Anniversary, they asked the banks nationwide to refer people who deserves to receive such. After our conversation she told me that a manager will call me to confirm if I can come to their office and promised that she will send me their company address and other details. Well, I can't think of any possiblity of being chosen.Since I only have one savings account and to think that I'm not someone, known or have a big contribution, for a Bank to refer me. I've chosen not to believe than be tricked. I want to try but I guess it's better not to. I have to consider the waste of time and energy I might spend if I will be meeting with charlatans.

  144. Best way to avoid being victimized by these text messages is to ignore it. Do not believe offers that are too good to be true.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Maybe, the best way to avoid being a victim of scams is to ignore messages from numbers that we do not know. Usually kasi if a message is a legit or big company like Philippine Prudential, as I've observed with other companies, they are using 4 digit numbers. Ayun. Next time siguro we should be vigilant enough to know this kinds. Salamat!
